Traditional Ayurvedic Medicine
Dedicated to the practice of traditional Ayurvedic medicine, located near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, the AVP Research Foundation was AVP Groyup, the Ayurveda Clinic Coimbatore India. Supported and funded by many such community health organizations, the clinic offers primary care, community health promotion and referral, diagnostic and therapeutic services.
In its efforts to be a catalyst for change, the clinic has grown to serve thousands of people year-round. Deeply inspired and humbled by their many tireless efforts, in late 2021 launched the first-ever annual Community Grant Fund to assist and cooperate with local groups, projects, and individuals bringing Ayurveda to their neighbourhoods.
Every year the clinic partners with several other like-minded partners to strengthen partnerships and increase mutual appreciation of traditional healing systems. Because of these relationships and its long-standing track record of providing comprehensive primary health care, patients attending the ayurvedic medicine clinic receiving care from one of its professional staff have confidence that the doctors they see are all knowledgeable and trained in the traditional systems of Ayurveda.
Ayurveda Masters Institute
These doctors have performed their residencies at the Ayurveda Masters Institute, a reputable institution of higher learning in India. They are thus well equipped to impart knowledge from the classical texts to patients suffering from ailments such as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, cancer, and heart disease.
This includes modalities such as acupuncture, Ayurvedic massage, naturopathy, and homeopathy. The modern medicine clinic prides itself on providing all treatments within its framework of traditional methods while integrating these therapies and procedures into the patient’s modern health care environment.
One such program being integrated is a new one called the Electronic Medical Record and Information System (EMRIS), which aims to reduce fraud and increase efficiency by standardizing medical information. In the UK, many patients are already using the EMRIS system, implemented for use by the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCS).
Information Management – EMRIS
EMRIS is a system of information management, and transmission focused on reducing unnecessary delays and eliminating fraud. The system also allows doctors to perform more tests without writing the test up in an additional file or handing it over to another professional to review. EMRIS is currently being implemented in countries such as South Africa, Australia, Thailand, and Kenya.
Another program utilized at the ayurvedic medicine clinic is the Diagnosis and Treatment for Genetic disorders associated with Ayurveda (ADGCAM). This program began in India in 2021 and has yet to reach its full potential.
According to the World Health Organization, India is still developing many diagnostic tests and treatments for genetic disorders and other health concerns. Many of these treatments and tests are still in the developmental stages. However, these developments will eventually result in more accurate diagnosis and treatment.
In addition to the primary services offered at the ayurvedic medicine clinic, several treatments performed in an ayurvedic doctor’s office can also be performed in a home setting.
These services include herbal preparations for weight loss and detoxification, herbal remedies to relieve various ailments, vitamin supplements for overall health, prescription drugs and over-the-counter drugs to address common health concerns, and consultation with other health professionals such as a chiropractor, an acupuncturist, or a physical therapist.
When administered by a practitioner trained in Ayurveda, each of these treatments is known as “asanas.” The primary objective of these procedures is to cleanse the body of toxins, boost the immune system, and improve one’s well-being.
Primary Goal for Patients
For many patients and visitors, the primary goal is to visit an ayurvedic doctor to diagnose and treat a particular condition. In this case, the individual will likely suffer from some ailment, such as chronic pain, digestive disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, or arthritis. These conditions may require treatment with prescription medications and holistic health therapies to address the condition’s root cause.
Once the underlying cause is identified, the practitioner will use ayurvedic medicine to address the symptoms and recommend the most effective course of action. At times, the best course of action will involve treating the individual with holistic health care products while leaving the condition untreated.
For example, if the primary complaint associated with a patient’s digestive complaints is inflammation, the practitioner may recommend cleansing using soothing foods and drinks while treating the underlying disorder. If a person has arthritis, the recommendation would be to apply topical oils and ointments while taking antioxidant supplements, which can help prevent further arthritis attacks.
However, many modern medicines and treatments for these skin conditions mask symptoms without addressing the root causes. Therefore, patients attending an Ayurveda clinic need to be proactive in addressing their skin conditions by consulting with experienced practitioners trained to treat these types of skin diseases.
One Important Note Concerning Treatments
Many remedies recommended at an Ayurveda clinic are for long-term use. Therefore, if a person has recently had a major trauma or experience, such as the death of a loved one, it may be more difficult to use the remedies during the healing process.
This is not a problem, however, as there are alternative healing methods, such as acupuncture, massage therapy, or chiropractic manipulations, which are highly effective for addressing immediate discomfort and improving the quality of life. In addition, patients attending Ayurveda clinics should eat a healthy diet, which includes a well-balanced diet rich in all of the essential nutrients.
By living a healthy lifestyle, we can help promote healing in our bodies. With the right care and attention, our bodies will be able to fight against many of the common ailments that we may face daily. You can consult doctor either offline or Ayurveda Online Consultation
